Our Story

Radiance Church has a legacy that stretches back over a century. What began in 1921 as Washington Pike Baptist Church was a vibrant place of gospel preaching and life transformation, where generations gathered to grow in faith and share the hope of Jesus.

Nearly 100 years later, as the church prayerfully sought help amid declining numbers, God was already moving behind the scenes. At the same time, a group of  30 people from Fountain City Church were praying for direction. One of their house-group leaders, Chris Conner, was sensing a call to step out and lead a church. In God’s providence, those believers joined the 11 remaining members of Washington Pike Baptist Church and a revitalization began right here at 1700 Washington Pike.

In 2025, we embraced a new name, Radiance Church, a reflection of who God is calling us to be: a people who look to Him and then radiate His glory and light to the world around us.

Our story is really His story, and we’d love to invite you to join in what He’s doing here.
